Fluorescent penetrant testing fluid

The fluorescent penetrants produced by our factory include two types: post emulsification and self emulsification.

After testing and assessment by the No. 430 Factory of the Third Machinery Department, Shenyang 112 Factory, Shanghai Changzheng Machinery Factory, Shanghai Flaw Detection Machine Factory, and other units, it is unanimously agreed that the comprehensive performance of the fluorescent penetrant flaw detection fluid produced by our factory in terms of luminous intensity, cleaning corrosivity, and sensitivity is far superior to that of the MK-22 lubricating oil kerosene fluorescent fluid from Russia, reaching the level of similar international products. It fully meets the requirements of non-destructive testing in modern aviation engineering in China.

1、 Classification and application of fluorescent penetrant testing fluids

Inspection scope:
(1) Fluorescent penetrant is used to inspect the surface opening defects, cracks, porosity, air holes, cold shuts, oxidation scars, etc. of metal (non magnetic heat resistant alloys, aluminum, magnesium alloys, bronze, etc.) and non-metallic (ceramic, phenolic plastic, etc.) components.
(2) The following defects cannot be guaranteed:
A. Cracks caused by thermal deformation (drawing, rolling, forging, etc.) such as compression, folding, stacking, and filled with non-metallic inclusions.
B. Cracks that are blocked due to external factors.
2、 Inspection process procedures
Requirements for parts before inspection:
(1) The inspected parts should be thoroughly cleaned to remove oil, rust, chips, paint, water stains, and other contaminants.
(2) For parts that have undergone color inspection, all colorants should be cleaned, as contamination of defects by color penetrants can extinguish fluorescence, leading to unreliable fluorescent inspection results.
2. Application method of penetrant:
(1) Self emulsifying
A. Penetration and cleaning:
Immerse the cleaned and dried parts in fluorescent liquid (or brush or spray the fluorescent liquid onto the parts) for 10-15 minutes, take out the parts and drip them on the empty drying rack, and turn the parts over to ensure that the surface permeate liquid flows out, Then conduct cleaning at a water temperature of 20-40 ℃ (adjust the air water spray gun to produce a suitable low speed jet flow, with the nozzle at least 30 cm away from the part, and the pressure of about 0.35 kg/cm2. Depressed components such as grooves and inner channels can be cleaned using angled nozzles or immersed in agitated water, or both methods can be used together). When inspected under a black light, the surface of the part should have no residual background fluorescent color.
B. Drying, imaging, and inspection:
Place the above parts in a hot air circulation oven for drying. The drying time varies depending on the geometric shape, size, material properties, and initial temperature of the parts, but the shortest drying time should be maintained. The oven should not exceed 85 ℃. After drying, the developer powder should be coated as soon as possible, and the powder should be covered for 10-15 minutes. Blow off the excess powder with air, with a maximum air pressure of 0.3 kg/cm2. Then, start the inspection 10-15 minutes after the UV lamp is activated.
(2) Post emulsification
A. Permeation and cleaning are the same as self emulsifying operation methods. (After cleaning, it is not necessary to use a black light to check the cleaning effect.).
B. Immerse the initially cleaned parts in an emulsifier (i.e., cleaning agent) for the shortest possible time.
C. Final cleaning: immerse the parts in agitated water or perform automatic spray cleaning for 1-2 minutes, adjust the water/air spray gun, and finally remove the emulsifier from the surface of the parts with a low speed fine spray flow. Pay special attention to the recessed parts during cleaning, while taking care not to over clean.
D. Parts drying, imaging, and inspection: the same as self emulsifying operation.

The parts should be inspected within 1-2 hours. If the time exceeds, the parts should be reprocessed from the degreasing process.

3. The process flow must be followed and no interruptions are allowed at all stages of the entire process. No matter what causes the operation to be delayed or interrupted, the oil removal shall be restarted.
4. The parts should not overlap each other while rotating in the basket to ensure that all parts of the parts are cleaned and powder sprayed evenly.

4、 Storage and transportation
1. Product packaging: Use 53 gallon galvanized barrels with a net weight of 180KG, and small quantities can be packed in plastic barrels (net weights are 25KG, 20KG, 10KG, and 5KG respectively)
2. During storage and transportation, do not use the packaging to damage it, and do not push it too heavily.
3. Store in a dry place to prevent rain.
4. Smoking and fire are strictly prohibited.
